What Happened @ Reboot_
As we posted here, here and here last week was the "go live" of Reboot. We helped Jonas from the inception of his project and we are very happy about the results during the day.
All groups identified some great problems and solutions on how to solve them. Details about what each group did are posted on the Reboot blog. To sum up the three groups worked on:
Red Group (group we were facilitating):
Problem: People in big cities (e.g. London) suffer greatly by mental stress. How can we help them feel better?
Solution: Living in the moment. Instead of coming up with a solution that would be impossible to implement because of resources we came up with a simple solution that can be implemented quickly and spread like wildfire. Everyone feels isolated in big cities and sharing your problems always has a healing effect. Our movement will allow people to engage in conversation whenever they see a person wearing our badge making them feel better and eventually happier.
Orange Group
Problem: How can we engage the young and the old to help each other?
Solution: Street Share: Cross generation life learning. Instead of an online matching service that operates on a model based on needs, skills, time and interests which was the instinctive solution – this project takes the platform to the street! A place where the ageing can have full and easy access, and the young can have fun and learn in a non-traditional setting.
Blue Group
Problem: How can responsible action be encouraged in the healthcare system?
Solution: Grading system. Create a waiting system of hospitals (based on service, wait time, amenities, how many empty beds, etc). Telephone service that allows for information and support in aim of to address less serious problems - are you sick or not? (modelled after programme in France). Incentive system for Government to play active role in education and penalties / crime for abusing the healthcare system.
Personal Care. A learning zone within the hospital to take care (and possibly avoid return visits), take responsibility (cooking lessons in schools and hospitals, walking and exercises) along with a street guerilla awareness campaign!
We are actively engaged this week in making our group's solution a reality and when the first version is ready we will let everyone know how they can contribute.
